What makes a Loire Valley tour good for families?
The tours are planned around children: kid-friendly driver-guides who tell stories, a stress-free day where logistics are handled, and activities for every age. That can mean dressing up as knights at Rivau, the Tintin exhibition at Cheverny, an electric boat ride or a treasure hunt.
Which Loire castles do kids enjoy most?
Chambord, with its double staircase, and Cheverny, linked to Tintin, are favorites. Rivau lets children dress up and explore secret passages. Chinon's fortress has ramparts to climb. Clos Lucé shows Leonardo da Vinci's inventions, and Chenonceau can be seen from a boat on the Cher.
Are there family activities in the Loire Valley besides castles?
Yes. Near Saumur you can visit a troglodyte museum with fossils and prehistoric tools, eat fouées in a cave restaurant and spend the afternoon at a zoo built into the rock, home to more than 1,000 animals. Electric boat rides on the Cher are another hit with kids.
Can the family tours be adapted to toddlers or teens?
Yes. Each tour is private and planned around the rhythm and wishes of each family member, from the youngest to the grandparents. Tell your trip designer the ages of your children, and the pace, visits and breaks will be adjusted.
