What’s the best time of year to visit the Loire Valley castles?
Each season gives the Loire Valley a different feel. Spring and summer bring the gardens into bloom; the Chaumont-sur-Loire International Garden Festival, for instance, usually runs from April to early November. Fall is harvest time in the vineyards, and in December several châteaux decorate for Christmas. Tell your trip designer what you care about most and they will suggest the right dates.
How many days should I spend in the Loire Valley?
There is no set length, since every trip is designed around you. The region offers a lot to fill your days: castles such as Chambord, Chenonceau, Azay-le-Rideau, Amboise and Clos Lucé, wine tastings in Sancerre, Vouvray or Touraine, boat or kayak outings, cooking classes with local chefs and bike rides. How do I get from Paris to the Loire Valley?
