What is a babymoon, and why do it in the Loire Valley?
A babymoon is a relaxing trip for expecting parents before the baby arrives. The Loire Valley suits it well: distances between sites are short, the châteaux and villages can be visited at a gentle pace, and you can stay in a luxurious château or a charming hotel, with time set aside for the pool or the spa.
Which activities are safe and relaxing during pregnancy in the Loire Valley?
Gentle options include a peaceful river cruise, château visits, a pottery class or a lesson in making traditional French pastries and bread. Many spas and wellness centers in the region offer treatments, and you can end the day with dinner in a Michelin-starred restaurant. If you have any doubt about an activity, check with your doctor, and your trip designer will adapt the program.
Can the driver-guide adjust the pace if I get tired?
Yes, that is the point of having a private driver-guide. They drive you in a comfortable vehicle and adapt the day to your energy, offering more or fewer visits as you go. Your itinerary also includes plenty of rest stops, so you are never stuck on a long stretch without a break.
Will there be food options suited to pregnancy on a wine-region trip?
Yes. We make sure you have access to healthy food and drinks throughout the trip. Tell your trip designer about any foods you are avoiding: they will pass it on to the restaurants and adapt the program, for example by replacing a wine tasting with another local experience. Massages and other spa treatments can also be arranged.
