FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the cave experience and Bioparc family tour?
It takes place near Saumur, in the part of the Loire Valley known for its troglodyte sites carved into the limestone. An expert driver-guide accompanies you all day and is used to holding the attention of children and adults alike.
What will kids see at the troglodyte museum?
The underground museum displays fossilized creatures, large shells and tools used by people long ago. It is interactive, so children can touch some of the objects instead of only looking at them. Young explorers and adults both enjoy it, and it makes a good first stop before lunch.
What are fouées?
Fouées are small bread pockets baked in a wood-fired oven, a specialty of the Saumur area. They are served hot and filled with savory or sweet toppings: rillettes, pork pâté, cheese, charcuterie or chocolate. Lunch is in a cave restaurant, and the menu has options for adults and children.
What is the Bioparc zoo like?
It is a zoo built into the rock, with more than 1,000 animals living in natural settings, from primates to birds. Walking through the old quarries makes it feel very different from a regular zoo. It is a fun afternoon for the whole family.
