FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Romorantin is a rare white grape grown in the Cour-Cheverny appellation and hardly anywhere else. On this tour you visit a biodynamic Cheverny estate where the same family has worked with Romorantin for seven generations, and you taste their Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny wines.

You start at a century-old family winery in Vouvray, with troglodyte cellars and a rotunda where the estate's oldest vintages are kept. Next is a historic château with 500 years of winemaking, taken over in 2015 by a passionate couple. The day ends at the biodynamic winery in Cheverny.

The picnic is served in the gardens of the historic château at the second stop. It includes local specialties such as smoked salmon, homemade pâté and regional cheeses, with bread, and comes with the estate's own wines. You also tour the vineyards of this 500-year-old wine estate.

Mostly whites: dry, semi-dry, sweet and sparkling, made from Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and the rare Romorantin. Reds and rosés from Cabernet Franc, Côt, Pinot Noir and Gamay complete the picture. It is the tour we suggest to travelers who prefer white wine.
